Mantras (Japa or Chanting)
A mantra (Devanāgarī मन्त्र) (or mantram) is a religious or mystical syllable or poem, typically from the Sanskrit language. ... They are primarily used as spiritual conduits, words or vibrations that instill one-pointed concentration in the devotee. Other purposes have included religious ceremonies to accumulate wealth, avoid danger, or eliminate enemies. Mantras originated in the Vedic religion of India, later becoming an essential part of the Hindu tradition and a customary practice within Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. ....
Mantras are interpreted to be effective as sound (vibration), to the effect that great emphasis is put on correct pronunciation (resulting in an early development of a science of phonetics in India). They are intended to deliver the mind from illusion and material inclinations. Chanting is the process of repeating a mantra.
Om Salutations and Prostrations to Lord Ganesha. Om has no meaning, it is just the pure sound of the consciousness we call Brahman or God. Lord Ganesha is the Lord of obstacles and is always invoked first before starting any spiritual or material (such as using your computer) undertaking. The vibration and the energy of this Mantra will actually remove all inner (in your mind) and outer obstacles.
The Great Compassion Mantra is a miraculous chant given to the world by Kuan Yin, the Regarder of the Cries of the World.
This Mantra has many miraculous attributes. The Dharani Sutra teaches that humans who recite and hold the phrases of the this powerful and lovely Mantra will be spared the fifteen bad kinds of death; that they will be born in the Paradise of theDaughter and that human births after this Paradise will be auspicious ones conducive to progress toward final Enlightenment.
In accordance with the kindness of Our Mother God, by which, as we are told in the Great hymnto mahalakshmi and in other traditions, She grants "both worldly enjoyment and liberation", the Great Compassion Mantra grants many worldly benefits. Its practitioners are assured, among other things, that:t
Their families will always be kind and harmonious
Dragons, Angels and good spirits will always protect them
They will always meet good friends
They will obtain everything they seek.
"Those who recite and hold the Great Compassion Mantra will obtain the fifteenkinds of good birth. All gods and people should constantly recite and hold it, without carelessness." --http://www.mother-god.com/great-compassion-mantra.html

'Om Mani Padme Hum' (translation: 'Hail the jewel in the lotus') is a six syllable invocation (mantra) of Avlokitesvara, one who is invoked as the Protector from danger. It is claimed that one who recites this mantra will be saved from all dangers and will be protected. This mantra is widely used in Mahayana Buddhism. One can find this mantra inscribed on rocks, prayer wheels, stupa walls, loose stones heaped as Mani (jewels) on roads, paths, mountain passes, the approaches and exits of villages. One can find this Mantra inscribed outwardly in the prayer wheels with millions of this mantra inscribed on paper inside the prayer wheels. The devotee turning one round of the prayer wheel means he recites this mantra millions of times.

"Whenever anyone utters with reverence the name of Babaji,"Lahiri Mahasaya said, "that devotee attracts an instant spiritua lblessing." --From Chapter 32 of Paramahansa Yogananda's "Autobiogaphyof a Yogi"
The northern Himalayan crags near Badrinarayan are still blessed by the living presence of Babaji, guru of Lahiri Mahasaya. The secluded master has retained his physical form for centuries, perhaps for millenniums. The deathless Babaji is an avatara. This Sanskrit word means "descent"; its roots are ava, "down," and tri, "to pass." In the Hindu scriptures, avatara signifies the descent of Divinity into flesh.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is a great
mantra dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is called Maha Mritunjaya Mantra because it
is a great death-conquering mantra. Sometimes it is also known as
Mrita-Sanjivani Mantra. The Maha Mrityunjaya mantra is hailed by the sages as
the heart of the Veda. This mantra holds the highest place along with the
Gayatri Mantra among the many mantras used for contemplation and meditation.
It is believed that to overcome the fear of death, Lord Shiva himself gave
humanity the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. This mantra restores health, happiness and
brings calmness in the period of death. When courage is blocked, it rises up to
overcome obstacles. The Maha Mritunjaya Mantra is as follows:
"The Gayatri Mantras
connected with various deities give particular results and siddhis. The Shiva
Gayatri confers extraordinary wealth on the worshipper, who becomes another
Kubera, the god of wealth and riches. The constant sravana (attentive hearing)
of the mantra ... surely brings the rewards of prosperity and
fulfillment."
(Aum. Let us invoke the three
realms of earth, wind and fire. Let us invoke the superlative male and
omniscient lord. Let us meditate and focus upon the supreme lord. Let us ask
Shiva to provide us inspiration and guidance in our spiritual journeys.)
Vishnu, (from the Sanskrit root
'vish', to pervade) is the second god of the Hindu triad (see Trimurti) and as
the preserver of the universe represents mercy and goodness. He is said to be
the cosmic ocean nara,
meaning water, which was the only thing in existence before the creation of the
universe. For this reason, he is also known as Narayana, or 'one who moves on the
waters'.
"The potency of this
formulation is such that it bestows on us the benefits of good birth and
unlimited wealth, guarantees freedom from troubles and travails that plague the
average man on the street, and, after ensuring a full and satisfied life, also
transports us to the Eternal Land from where no one returns to this world of
misery and misfortune. It is a mantra guaranteed to confer 100% satisfaction,
says Sri Thirumangai Mannan-
"It is the mother who, even without being requested, anticipates every need
of her child and fulfils them fully and in time. This mantra, however, is
greater in glory than even the mother, for, while the mother can cater only to
one's material needs, this mantra takes care of our spiritual health too.
"Like a potent medicine that not only eradicates the crippling illness but
also ensures a disease-free life, this mantra too rids us of troubles when they
plague us and reserves for us an existence of unalloyed bliss. Even if one
doesn't require anything from life and is perfectly satisfied with what it has
to offer, this mantra can be recited for the pure pleasure it offers and for
its own sake, says Sri Kalian.

Namo Narayanaya” (Salutations to Lord Vishnu [Narayana])

Kanakadhara Stotram (The Bombay
Sisiters) MP3Video
Alleviates suffering & grants
boons
One day in the sacred Rishi
tradition Bhagvadpada Sri Adi Sankarachrya went to one old woman's house for
alms (biksha).
She was so poor, she was not having a proper dress and anything worth the name
to give as biksha. So with the entrance door of her house slightly ajar, she
reached out swamiji with her hand stretched and dropped one amlaka fruit (which
was the only thing available in her house) into the hands of Sri Sankaracharya.
Sri Sankaracharya was deeply touched at the plight and haplessness of the woman
- So he chanted Kanakadharaa stotram and prayed Goddess Lakshmi to extend Her
Grace on the woman. The giver of wealth Goddess Lakshmi showered as rain -
Golden Amlaka fruits in the house of the old woman.
This Stotram has been acclaimed as Kanaka Dharaa Stavam - and it is sure to
bless all devotees who extol Sri Devi with all unflinching devotion.

animals, thieves, etc. and in adversities one is protected by Prabhu. In His
shelter, enemies become friends and just as a mouse seeing a snake becomes

Om Aim Saraswati Namaha (Prostations to Goddess Saraswati)
The most popular practice adopted
by Buddhists is the chanting of "Amitabha," the sacred name of the
Buddha of the Western Pureland.
People also recite or call upon
his name by the time of dying will be born in the Land of Ultimate Bliss
with the reception by Amitabha. Amitabha is one of the most popular and
well-known Buddha in China.
“Namo Amitofou” (Homage to the

Vajra Guru (Padmasambhava) mantra(Bodhipaksa,
wildmind.org)MP3Video
Padmasambhava was a historical
teacher who is said to have finally converted Tibet to Buddhism. He was a
renowned scholar, meditator, and magician, and his mantra suggests his rich and
diverse nature. In Tibet
he is referred to as Guru Rimpoche (Precious Teacher), or the Vajra Guru.
In the Vajrayana traditions,
particularly of the Nyingmapa, it is held to be a powerful mantra engendering
communion with the Three Vajras of Padmasambhava's mindstream and by his grace,
all enlightened beings.
Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (former head of the Nyingma Lineage, deceased) explains
the meaning of the Vajra Guru Mantra:
"It is said that the twelve syllables Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi
Hum carry the entire blessing of the twelve types of teaching taught by Buddha,
which are the essence of His Eighty-Four Thousand Dharmas. Therefore to recite
the Vajra Guru mantra once is the equivalent to the blessing of reciting.... or
practicing... the whole teaching of the Buddha.
The wisdom mind of Padmasambhava is manifested in the form of this mantra;
these twelve syllables are actually the emanation of His wisdom mind, and they
are endowed with His entire blessing. The Vajra Guru mantra is Padmasambhava in
the form of sound. So when you invoke Him with the recitation of the twelve
syllables, the blessing and merit you obtain is tremendous. In these difficult
times, just as there is no Buddha or refuge we can call upon who is more
powerful than Padmasambhava, so there is no mantra that is more fitting than
the Vajra Guru Mantra."
If one recites it a thousand or
ten thousand times on a daily basis, one is able to literally overwhelm others
with one's brilliance, in the sense of becoming very charismatic and
influential in exerting a positive influence over others, and one will gain
unhindered force of blessings and spiritual power.
If one repeats it a hundred
thousand or a million times on a regular basis one will become capable of affecting
an immeasurably great benefit for beings, exactly as one would wish to.
If one recites the mantra three or
seven million times, one is never separate from the buddhas of the three times
and one becomes inseparable from me. All the gods and demons of existence will
attend to one and offer their praises.
“Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi
Hum”
(Draws all the "siddhis"
into your Life through the blessings of all the Buddhas in the Cosmos)
"If one meditates on the
Medicine Buddha, one will eventually attain enlightenment, but in the meantime
one will experience an increase in healing powers both for oneself and others
and a decrease in physical and mental illness and suffering." —Lama Tashi

The most effective meditation is
the constant repetition of Kuan Yin's name; “Namo Kuan Shi Yin Pu-Sah” (Hail
Kuan Shi Yin Bodisattva). This reminder of Kuan Yin's peace and generosity can
bring such qualities into every aspect of her devotee’s life.
21 Reps of The Usnisa Vijaya Dharani (Mitchell Gibson)MP3
Buddha to Lord Sakra: "Lord
of Heaven, if someone hears this Dharani even for just a moment, he will not
undergo karmic retribution from the evil karma and severe hindrances
accumulated from thousands of kalpas ago, that would otherwise cause him to
revolve in the cycles of birth and death - in all kinds of life forms in the
evil paths - hell, hungry ghost, animal, realm of King Yama, Asuras, Yaksa,
Raksasa, ghosts and spirits, Putana, Kataputana, Apasmara, mosquitoes, gnats,
tortoises, dogs, pythons, birds, ferocious animals, crawling creatures and even
ants and other life forms. Owing to the merits accrued from hearing for a
moment this Dharani, once this very life is over, he will be reborn in the
Buddha lands, together with all the Buddhas andEkajati-pratibaddha
Bodhisattvas, or in a distinguished Brahmin or Ksatriyafamily, or in some other
wealthy and reputable family. Lord of Heaven, this man can be reborn in one of
the above-mentioned prosperous and reputable families simply because he has
heard this Dharani, and hence be reborn in apure place.""Lord of
Heaven, even acquiring the most victorious Bodhimanda is a result of praising
the meritorious virtues of this Dharani.
Hence, this Dharani is also known as the Auspicious Dharani, which can purify
all evil paths.
The Buddha further added, "If
one can chant this Dharani 21 times daily, one is worthy of accepting all the
immense worldly offerings and will be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss
after one's death.

"Agni is one of the most
important of the Vedic gods. He is the god of fire, the messenger of the gods, the
acceptor of sacrifice. …he is the vital spark of life, and so a part of him is
in all living things; he is the fire which consumes food in peoples' stomachs,
as well as the fire which consumes the offerings to the gods. … He was so
important to the ancient Indians that 200 hymns in the Rig Veda are addressed
to him, and eight of its ten books begin with praises dedicated to him. http://www.pantheon.org/articles/a/agni.html
"All the main processes in your body: breathing, digesting and entire
metabolism is a form of burning reaction. Recite Agni mantra to improve

Combine this mantra with some exercise to loose wait fast and in the most
spiritual way. Energy of fire corresponds to vision and eyes, so this mantra
